ABOUT THE DROP

The Project

For multidisciplinary New York–based artist Glenn Goldberg’s debut on Dropshop, a curated selection of eight paintings is presented alongside a newly published hand-embellished edition that reflects the breadth of Goldberg’s practice and distinctive visual language.

Awash with meditative dots and recurring motifs, Goldberg’s works invite a quiet, sustained encounter—encouraging viewers to pause, look closely, and appreciate the care and generosity inherent in the act of making. An accomplished printmaker across mediums, Goldberg’s screenprint Up There distills his signature style to bold black line animated by painterly application of watercolor. Each hand-embellished print carries the immediacy of the artist’s hand, translating the intricacies of his paintings into graphic form.

Goldberg’s imagery draws from the natural world: birds, flowers, trees, skies, and fences. However, his paintings are less concerned with depicting specific places or pursuing naturalism than with creating imagined worlds through emblem, pattern, border, and design. The resulting compositions possess an intimacy and gentleness that reward prolonged viewing.
